Insomnia is a disorder where a person gets little or no sleep. One or several things can trigger the causes of insomnia. It can affect your well-being throughout the day causing fatigue, creating problems staying focused and can create irritability. There are three different insomnia symptoms that can occur. There are several ways to treat insomnia, which will be explained later on in this article.

Most causes of insomnia are trouble falling asleep, waking several times at night unable to return to sleep, waking earlier than usual in the mornings, and not feeling rested after getting 7-8 hours of sleep. This can cause problems in daily life causes you to be more tired during the day and not being able to concentrate or think clearly.

There are three types of insomnia a person can experience. Short term or transient can range from one night to a few weeks. On and off or intermittent happens infrequently. On-going or chronic insomnia happens at least three nights a week over four weeks or more. Within in the chronic realm insomnia can be primary or secondary. Primary is not related to any other health condition. Secondary can be triggered by a medical conditional, drugs or a poor sleep environment.

There are several ways to treat insomnia a number of them are natural remedies. Avoiding alcohol or reducing your intake, relaxation therapy, regular exercise, light sleep therapy and biofeedback training are among some natural ways to help cure insomnia. Try starting a routine to help you wind down before going to bed, like taking a bath, or reading until you feel tired. Only use your bed for sleeping and sex and don’t watch television, in time your body will be able to connect bed and bedtime with sleeping. Talk to a healthcare provider if you feel that you have insomnia symptoms and talk to them about some remedies that may work for you.
