Students Get Through Stress With Owning a Pet

We already know that pets can enrich the life of the chronically ill and elderly. A recent study showed that college students who owned a pet were less stressed and that the pet helped them through difficult times. College students that owned at least one dog or cat or a combination were less lonely and depressed. The first few years of college can be very stressful for some, feeling isolated or overwhelmed. Many say without their pet they would feel lonely.
