Cortisol is produced when your body is stressed. Many people suffer from chronic stress and don’t even realize how much it has taken over their body. Cortisol can effect your blood pressure and the immune system. It is important to give yourself some down time each day in order to keep your body regular and free of stress. Try taking a break with your ipod and listen to soothing music. Take a walk with a friend and catch up. Sipping black tea can be beneficial to lowering stress because it has naturally occurring chemicals such as polyphenols and flavonoids may be responsible for tea’s calming effects. Make sure you are giving yourself a break so that stress does not take over.
